Director, Center for Student Engagement
Biography
Ashleigh serves as the Director of the Center for Student Engagement. A native of Johnson City, Tennessee, Ashleigh came to Knoxville to pursue her undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee. In her time as an undergraduate, Ashleigh enjoyed involvement with various student organizations; including Alpha Chi Omega sorority, the Student Government Association and worked as a Resident Assistant. It was from these experiences that Ashleigh gained a passion for serving college students and pursuing a career in higher education administration.
In her current role, Ashleigh works with the Student Engagement staff to assist the Campus Events Board and 480+ registered student organizations with planning and executing campus activities, as well as assessing ways to enhance student learning, development, and retention through campus involvement experiences. Prior to her current position in the Center for Student Engagement, Ashleigh served as the Assistant Director in the Office of Student Activities, as a Hall Director for the Department of University Housing and as an Academic Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences. Ashleigh’s professional areas of interest include; assessment, university-wide collaboration, communication, staff development, university historical research, and working with under-represented student populations
